Ingredients

  • 12 oz. salmon fillets, cut into 2-3 fillet strips
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper. If using, sprinkle a pinch of cayenne pepper over both sides.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, warm water, and apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) until combined. Set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Place salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crisp.
  • Flip the salmon fillets. Pour the prepared honey-garlic glaze over the salmon.
  • Cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Baste the salmon with the glaze as it cooks.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

For skinless salmon, sear for 3-4 minutes per side.
Adjust the amount of honey and vinegar to your preference.
Serve with your favorite side dishes like steamed vegetables or rice.
