Ingredients
  

  • 4 large Italian crusty rolls (hollowed out with half-inch walls)
  • 8 ounces dry spaghetti
  • ½ pound lean ground beef
  • 1 ½ cups thick marinara sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted for coating)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
  • Hollow out rolls using a small knife, preserving ½-inch walls on all sides
  • In a microwave-safe container, melt 1 tablespoon butter with ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Brush garlic butter inside each bread bowl and place on baking sheets
  • Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until just al dente (reserve 1 cup pasta water if needed)
  • Bake bread bowls for 10 minutes to crisp
  • In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat, drain excess fat
  • Stir in marinara sauce, season with salt and pepper, simmer 5 minutes
  • Fill each bread bowl with spaghetti, beef sauce, then top with mozzarella
  • Place bowls under broiler until cheese is golden and bubbly (2-3 minutes)
  • Let cool slightly before serving

Notes

Sourdough rolls are a viable substitute for Italian bread
Use whole-wheat or gluten-free spaghetti for dietary adaptations
Cookies baking method shown in example is not applicable here; this is a baked handheld dish
Storage tip: Seal cooled bread bowls in an airtight container and reheat in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes
